CURRICULUM, PROGRAMMING, ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING

Aberfoyle Park Campus Preschool uses the Early Years Learning framework for Australia for planning and programming.

Learning is divided into 5 outcomes

  • Children have a strong sense of identity
  • Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • Children are confident and involved learners
  • Children are effective communicators

The staff programme each fortnight and cover these curriculum areas as well as protective behaviours. Our topics and programme come from the children's interests, the written observations of staff or something special happening in the community.

A summary of the programme is on display and information about the programme is usually included in newsletters.

When your child leaves kindergarten to start school, you will receive a folder which will include Individual Learning Plans, child interviews, photos, work samples, other relevant information and a Summative Report.

A Summative Report, is a summary of your child's development while at kindergarten. You will be asked to read this and comment on the contents. We will ask you to sign the report. A copy of this report will be forwarded to your child's reception teacher.

We suggest that your child also shares this folder with their reception teacher.
