Aberfoyle Park Campus Preschool -
General Information
WHAT
YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO BRING EACH DAY
Your child will need a suitable bag that is large enough to
hold fruit, a cup and clothing etc. Please ensure that your child is able
to manage the fastenings of the bag.
Please name bags and all other items clearly.
E.g. cups, jumpers hats etc
It is good training in independence for children to be responsible for
both hanging up and collecting their own bag.
Children need to bring a named unbreakable
cup and a sun safe hat.
CLOTHES
- WHAT TO BRING
Please dress your child in comfortable clothing that he/she
is able to manage on his/her own. This is especially important for toiletting.
Please keep a spare change of clothing in your child's bag (accidents
do happen).
Hats are essential all year. A broad brimmed
or legionnaire style is recommended.
Sunscreen should also be applied before
Kindergarten.
ARRIVAL
& DEPARTURE
Sign-on folders are placed outside at the beginning of each
session. Please mark
off your child's name. This is important
for your child's safety, as in an emergency it will provide an accurate
record of the children in attendance.
There is a separate folder for Group 1,Group 2 and Pre-Entry.
Parents are most welcome to stay and participate
in activities at the commencement of a child's session.
Please do not leave your child unattended
in the playground before a session, as staff are unable to supervise them
at this time.
If someone different is to collect your child
on a particular day please write this in the diary on the kitchen bench.

PARENT
LIBRARY
Books, videos and community
information brochures are available for borrowing.
LITERACY
KITS
These are available for loan. Please fill out the card with child's
name, date borrowed and date returned.
SNACKS
AND DRINKS
Please send along a healthy snack for your child each day.
This could include fruit, vegetables, sandwiches or cheese. Muesli bars,
etc are not suitable, as they are very high in fat and sugar. Please send
small pieces of fruit that your child can manage to eat easily and without
too much waste.
Filtered water is offered when children are
thirsty and they are encouraged to help themselves. Please do not send
cordial, juice or soft drink to kindergarten as this encourages wasps
and ants.
Children will need to bring a named plastic
cup each day so they can help themselves to water when they are thirsty.
No nuts of any kind
please.
NO
WAR TOYS
The kindergarten is a war toy free zone. Please do not allow your child
to bring weapons, Batman capes or media - type toys to kindergarten. These
tend to inhibit creativity and produce aggressive, stereo type play.
WE WOULD PREFER THAT CHILDREN DID NOT
BRING ANY TOYS TO KINDERGARTEN, AS THESE ARE OFTEN LOST OR DAMAGED
